Pair of 2007 Mercury Optimax XS V6; 2 stroke, 250hp
I am looking to buy a 31' Rib to overhaul and re-power.
Currently it has those OB motors, and the owner does not want to pull and keep them. I do not want them, nor do I want to pay a premium for them because the boat has run 115 with them.
They are well-kept, well-tended, factory-serviced, etc. etc.
Can anybody share what they think a quick-sale price would be?
They have torquemaster gearboxes, if that matters.
Thanks,
Bob

The owners are like a lot of us: spent a lot of money getting it 'just right' (and they did. It is a winner in class and speeds.) and it is now 'treasure.'
I'm trying to give them a graceful ribbon to grasp to become more realistic that it is just a hull, and the first thing I will do is take a chainsaw to it.
There are a couple of other (newer) identical hulls that have Yanmar diesel I/O 6LP-315hp ends, and the re-build would be different.

You need to get on a web site in your area that is more about outboards than v8's like scream and fly or the hull truth. If it has a sport master it is made for speed so I would stop at scream and fly first! Nice motors though - good luck!

The owners and I talked this morning, and I suggested they keep the engines, controls, rigging, spare lower, prop inventory, and their electronics and drop their ask considerably,
They are not in a great position: their boat is known and it is a NOT a garage-queen. It has been run a lot more than it has been washed and polished.
Plus it it older and not subject to being financed, which, itself, kills off most potential buyers.
