I'm considering installing an auxiliary fuel tank approximately 200 gallons with an electric pump in the bed of my 3500 HD to fuel my boat. Any pros cons and/or recommended suppliers.

That would be a big tank and damn near take up the entire bed of your truck. Not to mention the 1400 lbs it would weigh when it was full, expansion/contraction of that much full when it's out in the sun like that.

Any DOT certified tank would work. They don't take up as much room as you think. Most of the time the ones i have seen were used to haul the boats race fuel. I have had a few friends use these tanks ,as fuel was much cheaper in S.Carolina than in Fla.

I just want to keep from dragging the boat out of the water everytime I need fuel. 93 Octane and our marinas are an issue. They have several 95 - 110 gallon tanks which are DOT certified. I know an accident can happen anywhere but I would not travel long distance with it full.

I did that in Fla until I changed my 700's to 89. The marinas constantly gave me grief, even though they did not have fuel to sell me. It came to a point I had to pull the boat anyhow to fuel.PITA..but the 91 700's were way more fuel efficient than the 89 version..so If I knew then what I know now mabe alot longer hose disguised as a water hose?
