Does anyone have real world experience with this new technology? I'm considering it for a retrofit on a twin bravo outdrive trim app using the mechanical to electrical converter. I want resolution to be better than the old gimbal mounted trim/limit mercruiser sensors I have now. I like the concept but am a little leary without getting some feedback from end users.

They were used on the retrofit of the Wolverine. They work great. I wasn't sure if they would be easy to see in the sun as they are mounted in front of the helm but they are. So far so good. If that helps?

how about at night are they dimmable or can you turn the lights off?

I was wondering about daytime visibility so thats good to know. Did you use the elec to mech converter/cable system? If so how is the accuracy/resolution?

That's a great question. I don't know for sure as the work wasn't done by me. I can tell you all the cables were replaced and I'm assuming a converter was used.....if you would like to know for sure send me a message and I will send you Jim Joyners number. He did all the rigging on the boat and would be able to tell you whatever you like to know.

I don't know. We never run the boat at night. It's a scary place to be on the lake where we boat so we avoid it.

They change the brightness with an ambient light sensor.

Your right about that and with water levels being down this year, even worse. I was out there last year leaving Brownies and it was about an hour after dusk and my buddy was acting as look out on the port side, we were cruising about 35 MPH and he told me to steer off to the starboard because there was a lone piece of lake lice coming towards us.

I checked it out at the Miami Boat show really nice setup but really expensive also when you add in the sensors I need to add to the tabs and drives and all the time it would take to install. Maybe a project for next winter. The damn cables go one at a time but they are a big pain to remove and replace.
