Spectre 24 or 26 Questions
#1
Looking for a lightly used Spectre 24 or 26. Trying to do as much research as possible but it's a little confusing. I'm seeing Spectre 24's and 26's. Wondering if somebody could help me understand when the real Spectre stopped making them and when Frisini started.
The 24 and 26 also look the same. Does anybody know if they are the same boat just measured differently? Also looking for some info on how much water the boat drafts and what the height is from the waterline to the bow at rest.
I would prefer an original Pilini built Spectre since I know I can get it worked on around here. I believe Pilini lives pretty close to me and still has a shop in Pinellas County.
Thanks and the only negative I've heard about these boats is that they can porpoise a little at higher speeds with heavy 4 strokes on them. Anything else I should know about them before I pick one up?
Thanks,
Mike

If you get a 24 with a Verado on it, get with me and I can tell you how I cured the porpoise problem. Only time I have to use the tabs is for weight dist. or just want to soften the ride through the chop. Have enjoyed mine so far!!

I have an '04 24' Spectre SCS with a 225 OptiMax and really enjoy this boat. I purchased it a year ago and would absolutely do it again. I looked at new and used boats (of other makes) but this was the one I wanted since I rode in one of the first ones in '03. US1KW is the person to talk to regarding the REAL Spectres until ~2011. Jay is building a similar 22' now.
