I am not a pro at boats but have a lot of comman sense. Been mechanicing for 38 years and just happen to also enjoy boats. Looking for advice on replacing engine in a 1978 Pantera Racing 24ft. Do's and don'ts welcome. Does the transmission stay in the boat for engine removal? I also have a 1974 Cheetah 24ft That I started a few years ago that needs some work on the Volvo Penta 280 outdrive. I believe the gimble bearing or shaft joints are going bad making some noise on turns. Can I insert pictures on this forum?

if you are not a paying member, you'll have to insert pics from an outside site, like photobucket.
