Yes, I had to make a MDF wood trim ring and wrap it in white vinyl to space the sub out far enough because it hit the floor lip. Also trimmed the bottom of the Sub grill so it did not hit the floor.

They sound nice, not booming but nice. I have a large amp on them but also have Eight 6 1/2" speakers also run with plenty of power. Overall the stereo is very loud clean and clear, and can be heard at 80mph (Turn it down for speed runs to hear whats going on) or while swimming.

Going to try to seal off the back seat this spring and will update on how it sounds.

4 - 12's (U shaped seating makes it easy)
12 - 6.5's

And it makes no difference because all I hear is wind.

Yes that not the area I was talking about. Maybe the 33OL does not have the same panels like I thought.

On my 342, I have one on each side. You can see it here at the bottom.

More holes on the sides & under the rear bench you can probably fit 10's.

IF you go up to 7.5's and want to go back to 6.5's they sell a ring you can screw in and refit the smaller speaker. I have them in the back of mine.

Keith, please restate what you posted. My boat has a 10 sub on each side. in the lower location.

the pic i posted you can see the 6.5 mid, the 1" tweeter, and the 10 inch sub at the bottom. i have this on both sides.

so my question was if anyone has mounted a better sub then the clarion 10, there and how did it do?

LOL! I will explain.

Just put more. More 10's, more 6.5's

I know a lot of people will disagree but I would rather have 4 marginal speakers (brand/price) than 2 really good ones. I wash my interior with a hose & soap. Nothing bothers me more than dirt in the cracks and crevices... This usually means I get 2 seasons out of speakers. If one or two break or stop working, you dont even notice.

Ironically, I am too ADHD to sit at a sand bar for more than 30 minutes. I am not the guy to play the stereo and sit on the boat anchored all day. I would rather be out running it and breaking $hit... I do however like "NoWake" zones. It gives me a chance to check my drive temp, drive oil and see what is on the iPod. If there werent no wake zones I probably wouldnt have a stereo.

I dont lay it all day, or am tryign to be the baddest tied up, the wakboard boats, with 8000watts will win that battle. But I do know the clario subs suck, and my app is turn way donw on those too, so some better subs will let me turn everything up a little. so when I am in the mood alone cleaning the boat, or something I can jam out a little mroe.

I can here it at WOT now, so its not bad, just like a to use the sub amp a little more.
