Default Bravo drive shaft seal replacement

my bellows were full of gear lube when i pulled the engine and drive out of my boat a few months ago, the drive shaft seal on the drive had been leaking. i replaced the seal and got the assembly back togethere, from the youtube video i watched it said that i needed to check the bearing lash with a inch pound torque wrench with a dial on it to 30, i do not have a torque wrench with a dial, is there any other options or do i need to go ahead and buy another torque wrench? thanks

Yes you will need a dial torque wrench to do this job. My friend is a certified tech and he showed me how to do it last year. It's not easy, it has to be a rolling torque and if you over torque it you have to split all the bearings and cups and start over. It's not as easy as any YouTube video says it is.

It took me a few times to get that bearing lash right. It was hard for me to fathom and let alone, leave the nut only 30 inch pounds when you just want to crank on it. I had to split my bearings from the cups once, that part kinda sucked.

I have a pressure & vaccum tester if you want to check & verify no leaks when going together. Randy
