Trying to figure what aluminum heads to buy right now to replace my irons... I have a few choices from a shop my buddy works at that has used but ready to bolt on heads in great condition. Hes giving me a discount on all these heads since i did some IT work for them in the past. He suggested the Brodix heads. Whats your take on this.

Choices:
Brodix RRs 200cc - $850
AFR 195cc - $1250
Edelbrock RPMs 185cc - $800 - probably too small

They will be going on my 406ci...

I have a article here on my desk. They had a 350 SB bored .030 over, 248/252 .480 lift cam...

They took a set of chevy ''880'' iron heads, and did a complete rebuild on them, installed larger valves, hand blended the bowls, etc.

Then they had a set of out of the box dart iron eagle 180cc head.

with no other changes,

GM head =382HP@5500
Dart Head=446HP@6200

The dart averaged 47HP more between 3500 and up.

But back to your question, they are all good heads. Just be sure to use Inconel valves on the exhaust, and some good springs and hardware.

Here are the specs he gave me on the Brodix heads...

64cc Chambers
Ferrea Valves 2.055 x 1.600
Titanium retainers w/10 degree locks
Set up for solid flat tappet .600 lift which I do have now.
