I have a bravo upper I want to use but the stainless pin that goes through the unit is stuck. It is the one that the trim rams go on to above the prop.
I have tried wd-40, a hammer, a very large pipe wrench, and I have made no progress.
I think it is stuck with salt in the housing. I need ideas to get it out as it also has a tie bar saddle on it.
Please offer any and all advise!

So...I gave it a bath in pb.....heat....hammer....
Here's the fix....(for me)
Muriatic acid in the rear bolt hole ( shove saddle down)
Heat at the point where the rod contacts the housing.....till red....
Started with birthday candles.....forget it! Go to Wally world and get (for me, hurricane candle) a big azz candle....preferably unscented...
Heat like a mofo......candle.....let cool....
Pb in the rear top nut access hole too.....and don't forget to rinse the acid out first!
Now drill a hole center of the rod on both ends, 3/16 or 1/4 and get a 5/16 in extractor.....
They are reverse rotation....start at about 1/8 and taper to 1/2
You are not looking to "unscrew" it, just create a method to "spin"
Heat with the reverse rotate extractor in the end....and while spinning....pull toward you. Then....once you have not more progress, go to the other side and repeat....
Fill rear mid to lower access hole with pb and heat after 30 min.....but know the pb will catch fire...but not a big deal....
Now....take a hammer and "drift" the pin port to stbd. In other words..smack the heii out of it back and forth.
If it is not out by now (was not for me) Get a slide hammer. Put the extractor in one end and continuously apply heat while hammering.
If this does not work.....

Ball joint press being very careful might work. I wouldn't put too much stress on it, may break the upper. But you could probably put a little torque on it, smack it with a hammer and repeat as necessary.

baja226sport,
How did you make out with this? I am actually dealing with the same issue where the pin is seized in. I went to a local marina that i'm frequently visit. The one mechanic told me to use a air hammer and work your way around the pin. I am going to attempt to free the pins today. If you have any advice, let me know!

The air hammer and PB Blaster is probably your best bet, and lots of patience. Frankly if you need to just remove a saddle, you could cut it off and leave the pin alone.

I did it! Just tackled this project today. You need about 6 fender washers, a small pipe muriatic acid pb blaster a 2 lb sledge and a torch. It took me about two hours to do both drives. The acid is the best thing so it gets all the crap off of it. Def a big check off the list. I'm confident that this thread helped me and hopefully baja226sport has the same success.
