Default Is small ship cruising safe for children?

Is small ship cruising safe for children? I have been planning for a cruising to Atlantic Waterways with Blount Small Ship Adventures. My son is eight years old. Would anyone help me know whether there are any concepts of security or safety systems while cruising in small ships?

kind of out luck if they have an age restriction. But personally I wouldnt have kid out on any boat with out life jacket and at that age better be able to swim. other than that you are the best thing defense against anything.

I don't recommend anybody taking children on cruise. I don't think it is safe.

Disney cruise is the only option it's a blast. Kids during the day and at night they will take the kids so you can have adult time.

I am thinking the people that are terrified of the water shouldn't be on this site...... After all, boats were meant for the water......... This is a weird thread. But I will second the vote for Disney, even if you don't have kids... I have been on Disney (twice), Carnival (once), and Royal Caribbean (once). I would say the service, food, cleanliness, room, etc (Disney) were miles above the other two Cruise lines.

Been taking my kid on a cruise every year since he was 6 now he is 8.. We went 7 days in Alaska on Princess cruise lines, then a 3 day down to Cozumel on royal carribiean. No issues at all. Both lines have a kids program where he would go and hang out(his choice) then be with us for dinner an lunch then watch the shows if he wanted.. Our family has been traveling on cruises when I was 6yrs old now 39. Never any issues..

Disney cruises are great...if you have kids. We do not and after 3 days wanted off. We go on cruises to get away and with all the little ones running all over, the Disney Characters, etc it was not a get away. Royal Caribbean for us, works just fine.

We have kids but and have worked really hard to teach them to be respectful which doesn't seem to be the norm these days, so we go on chartered cruises that are adults only, no one under 21 and have a great time.
