Default Water pick ups

How come K, SS and PS flat bottom boat water PU's are only about a 1/2" and ours are 1.25"? Some boats are smaller yet, getting water off the rudder.

How many of your 1.25" pick ups feed into strainers with 1" NPT fittings?

Why is 1.25" so common? The stock hose from the drive is only about 5/8".

Are you refering to the intercooler pickup? I have a Chitty square tube style that is cut on a forty five angle,I would like to get a sweeping round ajustable one as the current one has alot of drag.
