1997, 35 Lightning, 500hp's. 1.50 ratio Bravo 1. Props turning "in". Labbed 29 pitch Hydromotives running 84 on GPS, 5100 rpm's with 1/2 load of fuel, 2 peeps on the boat and slick water. I took the Hydromotives off this winter and put 30 pitch Bravo1's on. Waiting for it to get warm so I can do a test run. If I get the numbers I am hoping for, I will have Bblades lab them for me. Taking the Hydromotive props off (which are stern lift props) and putting the Bravo props on (which are bow lift) I hope to gain maybe 2 to 3 mph after Bblades works his magic on the labbing.

I think your doing really well with your current set up, I had a '99 35 Single step, 500HP's that were fresh , & warmed over a bit, 30P labbed by Bblades & I hit 85 once on the GPS, & that was with -2 lowers, & it was 2-3 slower with the standard length lowers

I have a 1990 smooth bottom, My as built water test report shows 454 mag's ,72 mph, now running mild 540 cu inches, only 550 HP each, 28 Hydromotive 4 blades GPS 82 to 85 w/ Full gas tanks, 2 humans, one big cooler, toolbox, 2 anchors, depending on water chop, etc, if I would unload all my stuff she would run, anyway I am happy with the speeds we are seeing, we don't run all out very often.

That's pretty good, my 32 single step with HP500EFI's runs 83. Doesn't seem to matter what load.

Sounds like the 35's were just as fast.

Default 35 speeds

The number that i put up for my 1993 smooth bottom with hp500's was on gps speedo with myself and one two other people in the boat with over half tank of fuel in cool air in the fall, and not just a one time thing. Hot heavy air in the middle of the summer its not happening. (28 bravos) Just to verify my friend alongside of me in a 25 Baja with big power running 80 on his gps and i slowly walked away from him. So that is two boats two gps's so i believe that to be pretty accurate.

35's only weigh A few hundred more lbs & are just better balanced boats.
