Default Step pads?? Hydroturf?

Hi guys I have a older scarab S and have been having a hard time trying to find a REASONABLE set of step pads. I haven't found any for under $200 each and I have 4.

So I thought I might try something and wondered if anyone else has done this before. I was planning on taking a thin aluminium plate and cutting it to fit my sizes, and purchasing hydroturf and applying it to the aluminium. This way Ill be spending about $150 total instead of $800, and can change it out when it gets dirty or fades. I should have more than enough to do them 2x with a $75 roll.

Hydroturf is good stuff. Just use good adhesive. I have used it on all of my jet skis.

I made some for mine but used an aluminum backing plate and then aluminum strips on top. Other then the time to polish the aluminum it was a pretty cheap upgrade and looks 1000% better then the aluminum/wood version the replaced!

Never used hydroturf!
