Fuel pressure question

I just traded boats, first experance with fuel injected as well as blower. My question is what fuel pressure should I be running? Boat is loading up badly at cold start, not as much but still doing it at warm idle. Transom is sooted badly. The gauge is showing between 70 and 90 pounds of pressure, which sounds WAY high.. What should it be?

(the good news is, once she gets on plane and clears up, runs like a raped ape)

That seems like a lot of fuel pressure. What size injectors? It sounds like the injectors might be undersized and the fuel pressure was jacked up to compensate. Just a theory without further information.

That fuel psi is WAY high. It should probably be closer to 40psi at idle. PSI at WOT will depend on the size of the injectors, but probably should not be more than 50-60psi.

Back the fuel pressure down like griff said. His #'s are very close to what most are pressure wise. Check afr with meter to be sure you dont hurt anything.
