Default 25 Motion with single

Just got this boat as a project. Actually in good shape just needs to be put together.
Was wondering how a single 280 or 300 would perform on it.
Any opinions?

Some skater 24's have been set up with single 300's and I think they run anywhere from mid 80's to mid 90's. It would be a great boat in rough water and not burn a ton of fuel but it may accelerate kind of slow?

Just wondering due to budget and operating costs. Still a pair of 225's will probably be the way to go.
Thanks for the input.

Yep I agree the 225s would be the way to go. My dad use to have a 25 motion with 260's and it was a great boat. Only downside was it liked to hop around 70 but a little turn of the wheel and more power and it would air out real nice.

The cat won't turn as well without twins. I have 225s' and it is the least hp you would want.

If I remember correctly Dan from Scream and Fly setup a 24 Skater (Motion is a copy) with a single 300 promax that busted 100 mph.

Yeap, I read he did 99mph, and there was a newer (perhaps the last one built) skater 24 (2003) with a 300x that also claimed to break 100mph. Great combo for fuel economy.

I have 225s on my boat. pro max's run great on a 25 and they get great fuel mileage. I personally would go with the twins. I have gotten my self out of a bind many times cause I had that other motor.
