Default Steps in non-stepped hull?

I overheard a guy talking about this. Is it possible to install steps on a non-stepped hull? Anyone here done this? Would have to be one hell of a project but cool to see.

Oh wow, that's pretty cool, and a sweet boat! Thanks for the info. Wonder what the gains were?

Anything is possible with time and money. I watched a guy hack up a perfectly good 12 meter Fountain up here a number of years ago by attempting to add a step to it. All he ended up with was a totally worthless boat that eventually got repossessed as a stripped hulk. And remember all of the horror stories about the evil handling that almost all of the early stepped hulls exhibited until manufacturers figured out how to do it right.

I wouldn't recommend it.

What a shame! Yea, I would never attempt to have that done to my boat. That will just have to wait until I'm ready to buy a newer boat with them already. That apache looked pretty good but I guess that doesn't mean a whole lot.

Interesting... I'd would still think it would at least improve top speed a touch if anything. What a bummer to have all that work done for poor results!
