Default My Brothers P&D 24x7 Hull, BUilt 350 with Alpha 1.

My brother is working on his new project boat and he has a completely re-built 350 with between 300-380hp on it. (Not exactly sure) I was wondering if the alpha 1 would be able to hold up for at least a summer? Anything He needs to know while doing this project? I will provide pics if interested. Thanks for the help!

even if it doesn't hold up, there are no less expensive easier to find drives. buy a whole boat for a nickel. keep drive and tons of spares. sell trailer for a nickel.

youpushin a 24/7with a 350. If you do grenade the alpha, get a $1200 SEI. with a 3 year no fault warrenty. You kill it, it's covered.

Runner prop hubs really help! The old Mach hub was really good and never failed.

Keep in mind your drive is (or should be) a 1.50/1 ratio. Also the early MR drives are a direct replacement and i think a slightly stronger drive but harder to find in a one fifty ratio. If your good with the throttle and smart with it you should have no problem in the 350 hp range. I had a pair of three hundred forty hp sbc in a 260 Scorpion and the drives were fine other then hitting a log once and getting fishing line around a prop shaft another time (wipes out lower seal). Another thing to note is use only the green Merc HP oil and change often (every twenty five hours give or take)
