Exhaust turn down question

Exhaust turn down question
ok,,got a 32 Fountain ,,,they sit low in the back so while at no wake with the exhaust open the boat vibrates because the exhaust gets trapped under the swim platform ,,
so I was going to try to direct the exhaust down in the water and I think that will help my situation,,,bought some 4" diesel exhaust tips I think they look good and at 25% of the cost of Gibson turn downs,,,
my question is,,,,do you guys see any issues with using this tips,,
any issues with the way the end of the tip is cut/slash....water working its way up the exhaust?
the exhaust tips do have internal flappers...

I have a solution for ALL of this. Have a set ( two for twins). It's a CMI underwater kit. Similar to the new merc system but all SST, polished. Search under my name in the classified, there are some pictures. (I will look for the pics, but it's on an old computer. ) In short, during idle and slow speeds exhust underwater, quiet. At plaine. it's to the open air.

Should be fine. Even if they go all the way underwater with the engines off, there is enough air in the exhaust system to create a pressure bubble to keep water from going back in when the pipes dip.
Case in point, about 6 years or so ago, I was waiting to get lifted out at the dry dock, July 4th, tons of boat wake and my pipes were dipping under water at least 6 inches, thought for sure I was going to have water in the cylinders the next day. Pulled the plugs and checked it before turning it over, no water and no problem.

Most tips have built in rubber flappers to prevent wash back and situations like you mentioned.
