I had the survey done on it today. Looking for an honest boaters opinion on it if anyone is local please send me an email or call.

I cant post pics on here. And pics dont tell the story. They all look great like most usually do. Thats why im looking for someone nearby to check it out. Im in Southern CA. The surveyor had some things that concern me and i dont have much time left to get it look at.

spend the money on a flight and write a day/weekend off to investigate the boat in person... its cheaper than an outright nightmare upon delivery and you see exactly what you are buying - not another 3rd parties interpretation of what the boat's condition is.
What you might find acceptable or something to outright walk away from could be the exact opposite to 10 other people.

I just looked at the Boat for him with Tres... That surveyor was a dumb a**.... He specializes in Sailboats and did not even know how to shift the boat into gear... I spent around 2 hours going over the boat with Tres looking at all the stuff the Surveyor wrote up and it was just non existent....
Boat is in great shape for price, you can't beat it. All original & nothing is cobbled up. Engines fired right up and drives shifted smoothly!!
I think it's a pretty good deal... But I guess I'm just telling him what he wants to hear since I don't pilot sailboats

Well Put Mark. Thanks again for checking it out for me.
To everyone else. I had a well respected guy selling the boat tell me one thing then I had a "professional" surveyor tell me the opposite so i wanted a cig owner to go look for me.
As an example. Surveyor says oil in bilge next to port motor. Suggests possible oil leak port motor.
Turns it out it was oil from a trim pump. Took 5 minutes to figure that for free yet the guy i paid 600 couldnt figure that out. As far as im concerned i paid 600 bucks for a guy to tell me their is oil that could be a problem!! There is some water could be a leak! There is an item that doesnt power up could not work or could be a switch.
Im sorry but anyone with any slight mechanical knowledge could do their own survey. (Oh you might want that fancy moisture meter too so you can find moisture in all the obvious spots) I guess the only hard part is the fancy 30 page report i get emailed that says a bunch of ambiguous comments about the "possible" issues.

Tres is the guy you want to give you an honest answer on that boat. I used to live in the area and cannot remember ever seeing a Cig TG in the area unless it was in Tres's stable of boats.
What year is it? Good luck either way!
