Default The Worst thing to happen in Havasu all week!!

On Monday of this week, a 8 year old little girl was riding though the channel sitting on the front of a boat, she fell off and was run over by her dad killing her!! But nobody knows this cause all we talk about is how unsafe we are as boaters. I'm not trying to be disrespectful to anyone, in fact I'm choosing my words very carefully. I'm just bringing to the attention of our boating community as well as the entire boating community that anything bad can happen when you are careless.

Good grief. No desire to go there ever, after hearing about all this.

it is absolutely infuriating to hear of something so easily preventable with just a little bit of common sense. So sad

Rented boat. Lord help the rental company for not explicitly saying you cant be on the front of the boat while under power.

We've all seen people doing strange stuff. I saw a guy last summer with 3 kids sitting on the front of a pontoon dragging their feet in the water while under power. I am sure you have all seen people sitting on the bow of a boat while under power....

And, my personal favorite (all powerboat guys have seen this) the second you get a newbie on your boat, they jump up and sit on the back seat! rolleyes!

I would say the worst thing that happened in Havasu this week was a guy using the news of a tragedy as bad as a father accidentally killing his daughter to downplay a poker run wreck. Poor taste! Choose your words a little more wisely next time. epic fail!

This happened in michigan last year on rented powerboat. As a father, I can't even imagine how that would feel. Right, wrong, or stupid, can't we all agree that is horrific for any family, prayers to the father, the mother and anyone else for that matter. If I killed one of my daughters, It would ruin my life.

Probably a good family just trying to have a good time and didn't know to hit neutral instead of running to the front of the boat, just awful.

when I was a kid back in the late late 70s it was the end of the day at Lake Travis and everyone was running back home (which even back then could get pretty crazy) and along came two Glastron looking boats like the one below both matching blue and on the very tip of the bow of each was a jorts wearing longhair ridding like they were on a bull with their legs on each side of the tip of the bow and hanging on with one hand and one hand in the air.....the boats were probably going 35+
