I had beat up teak step plates, my buddy made these for me out of flat stock aluminum, pretty sweet!!!!

I am a huge teak fan.... I love the look, but hate the maintenance. Sealed Teak looks fake and is slippery as hell, so the only way to do it right is to keep it oiled. But thats where the work begins....... My Baja Force had teak everywhere, lots of work but classic look. Now with that being said...... I really like your new step plates. Adds a nice subtle moden touch without being to gaudy. Plus I am sure they will be much easier to keep clean.

I didnt mind the teak, but the wood was beat up, 28 years of abuse, so it was cheaper and easier to make new ones!!

Looks great man. Hey, I had an idea, or a question rather. Does anyone make a plastic cover that would slide over top off the sides when docked? I had Dave finish the top sides without non skid, I really like the finished smooth look, however, an horrified what they will look like after a season without protection from stepping.

My old man had something like this for his C4 vette. If anyone remembers, the frame ran right along the door "sill" and you would eventually rub the carpet off from getting in/out of the car. These would also be useful when working on the boat and entering from a step ladder.
