Hi guys
Posted this time last year about the Maritimo guys running in the Bridge to Bridge powerboat race here in Australia.
To recap its basically a race down the hawksbury river near Sydney, the river gets tight towards the end of the race, mostly 18-21' tunnel boats and hydro's and displacement boats running.
Maritimo won outright last year despite a spin in first corner, they fell just shy of the 29 odd min record.
Well today they again took line honours, this time smashing the record finishing in 27min 51sec!
This is a link to my thread from last year

There is only one video so far on Facebook as they crossed the finish (I can't work out how to link it yet) but no doubt more will pop up in coming days, I'll link them as they come through here.

Fantastic job. Well done.
I watched them from my boat at Peats Bite.
Such an amazing sight seeing this beautiful boat charging down the river.
World champions. Bridge to Bridge record holders...whats next ?
Nice work guys.

And another

Also calculated an average speed for whole race of 140mph! When you know that river and how many corners and how tight it gets (for such a big boat) that's very very fast!

That is cool.
Not sure I like the company in the river though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7tMyNIfiy4
Is that a big shark at 37 seconds?
