Default Hyd steering install help

Is there any easy way to find the crankshaft centerline by looking at the gimbal housing? I need to drill through the transm and want to make sure I have it right. The instructions are very clear for distance right and left from the housing but height seems to be less clear.

Centerline of crank should be the centerline of the gimbal bearing.

I am trying to find the centerline of the crank without removing the outdrive. The hydraulic ram brackets need to bolt on at the same height as the crank center line. My initial thought was to use a square off the transm and line it up with the center of the trim sensors on each side of the gimble housing. Any thoughts or better ideas? I appreciate the help.

That is exactly how I did mine and is illustrated in Imco's instructions.
