keikehafer trim tab HELP!!!

I have a set of keikehafer trim tabs on my Baja sport 280.I want to put anodes on them .My mercury dealer gave me anodes to mount on mercury k plane trim tabs and said to mount them to the studs provided...The trim tabs on the boat dont have the studs?I think that the botton half is kinda easy just drill hole and sand the spot that it will touch and through bolt it...or sould it be tapped ?
The upper half is where Im stumped...I need to know if they should be drilled and tapped or nut and bolt and where to do it on the part.I dont want to drill the back edge neccesarily to avoid drilling into transom.
Can someone please help me pick a good spot, decide to nut and bolt or tap and pick an anode (aluminum) and where to buy or any help in this matter..
PS.. there is a large metal plug on the back plate that is threaded,is that where the anode goes and where to get them if it is....
Please anyone ?I need to figure this out yesterday...
Thanks
Mark

You can get the anodes from BAM, great service.

I would not. When you drill, tap, thru bolt.....you are exposing the tabs to stray current in the raw aluminum.....

Think cavity in a tooth.....rotting from the inside out. This is increased because you are putting stainless (the bolt) in direct contact with the aluminum. The ss will "attack" the aluminum.

I have the electronic mercathode system. No rot, no pitting, no frozen bolts. Try that instead
