I see from previous posts that you have a Land & Sea Stern Jack on your boat, just wanted to pick your brain a little bit. I recently purchased a Stern Jack for my 272 and was looking around locally and talking to people, and the one place I went to (Stern drive specialists) said DO NOT put it on, they said that it would be alot of stress on the bellhousing? Now i've heard stress on the gimbal and that external steering is good, but nothing like this! He said if it was a smaller boat 19'-22' ok, but not a 27'. I have seen many other large boats 27'-up with Stern Jacks on them, and your boat is making lots more HP than mine....Whats your take??? THANKS!
