Default Stainless steel Sea Pump

Has anyone tried the Stainless Steel Gen 7 Sea Pump for Mercury 350, 377, 496 and 502 Mag #625-4102 from Hardin Marine
as a replacement for the stock Mercury unit? My mechanic is not hot on the stock unit. He feels the plastic unit is good for one
rebuild at best.

Wes are you sure you need the Gen 7 model? I am replacing mine with the stainless steel "lifetime" overhaul kit on my Gen VI 502/509s: Stainless Steel "Lifetime" Sea Pump Overhaul Kit - CP Performance

There is already a therad on these pumps. I bought them for my 500HP EFI'S. If you have the racing mounts. I mean by that are the motor plates you will need to get the 90 elbows. The nipples on the back of these pumps are longer than the stock pumps, and will not clear the plate.
