Does anyone else have this problem? I'm trying to come up with a way to solve it but can't think of anything. I can't be the only one!?!?

I would drill a forward hole on the sun pad mount..that should give you enough clearance..I would think with the sun pad closed the ram moves forward and clears the belt..must only rub when open...take a flash light get in there and have some one lower the hatch to make sure

More info: The belt is not touching the ram when the sun pad is open or closed. It must hit when under load/high speed. I noticed little rubber shavings all over the engine compartment after using the boat last weekend and can visually see where the belt was rubbing against the ram. Although, there is at least 3/4" clearance. Does the engine mounts allow the engine to twist when under load/high RPM's? Or, maybe the belt is too loose? Although, even if the belt is loose, I wouldn't think it would allow the belt to move that direction.

if you think its a engine mount then..
look at the engine mounts and see if theirs a gap between the nut and engine mount bracket,,,if there is DO NOT tighten the upper nut ,,look under the bracket and tighten the lower nut and bring the engine back up..
and if thats the case you will then need to pull the outdrive and check coupler and engine alignment

Engine mounts were fine. When I got in the engine compartment and had someone else close the hatch, it started to hit the belt once it had about 4 inches to go until it was all the way down. I drilled a new bolt hole in the top bracket to bring that closer to the cockpit. Now there is about 3/4" clearance when the hatch is closed.

By the pic it looks like the ram attaches toward the rear of the bracket. Makes me wonder if the bracket just got bolted on backward, and if it was rotated 180 degrees the ram might clear the belt. I would think PQ had a jig or a dimple in the mold for where to drill the holes for the bracket.
