Default Blow Through Carburetors

Has anyone had real world experience with a blow through carb on a pleasure boat ?

It's always been my understanding that fuel injection IS the way to go with a Procharger, as a carb can only be satifactorily tuned for WOT and is a compromise everywhere else...

But what about CSU, C&S, Pro systems, or Nickerson?

Has anyone figured out how to get good drivability out of one ?

I have a Carb Shop blow thru and love it on my Cobra. (I know, not a boat) The only issue (which would be less noticeable) is the transition from vacuum to boost. This probably wouldn't be noticeable on a marine environment because of a higher load. Actually for idle and WOT it's perfect. I sometimes wish I could fine tune cruise mixture A/F. Very easy to tune though.

I have a C&S blow thru carb on a procharged 510 bbc in a customers boat. I did the final tuning on it and the thing runs great at every rpm. who ever said a carb can only be tuned for WOT does not know how to tune one. if you are looking for a precise AFR at every 100 rpm then yes EFI is better but a properly tuned carb can make as much or more power than EFI.

for marine application c&s is the way to go.i recently did some m4 procharged engines that origionally had pro systems carbs and i could not make them work right down low no matter what i did.we had roger from c&s carbs make some for these engines and they were close right out of the box.a few hours on the dyno and a few calls to roger and we had perfect afr,s at every rpm level.these carbs were not cheep,but still about half of what efi would have cost.

Ive got a c&s carb on my 502 that has an m3 procharger. I haven't dumped the boat in the water yet but it's very crisp running on the trailer. I'm looking forward to seeing how the boat does. Personally, I'm really impressed with c&s's work so far and the carb looks very trick!

C&S aerosol carb is the way to go period.i set the carbs up so all 4 open at once so you get the correct fuel mixture to all cylinders..they make more power on the lower rpm this way also..

I can attest to this. With the prosystems, no matter what we did, the afr was high 10's not in boost, gradually leaning to 13's at full kill. The metering setup was pretty much working backwards. The C&S aerosol, with a little tuning, we maintained good AFR's from start to finish. The boat was a fat pig with the prosystems at low speeds.

With these setup (all 4 open at once) you are probably jet the same on the 4 corner, what is your arf with that setup idle cruise and wot?
Dou you have try this open all 4 corner at once on top of roots blower? Good or bad thing to do on roots style?
