You might try BAM. He has had TRS parts in the past.

Many parts will come up NLA, but I heard a rumor that someone was going to start making them.

Cuda is right I heard there is going to be a company making aftermarket parts for TRS but the drive housings will no longer be available.

what kind of hp will these TRS drives handle. we have a 540 ci with a small 177 blower around 600hp and have blown the drive in flat water twice in less than 10hr. Dont know what to try next.

I don't know why anyone would start making replacement parts without offering the housings as well. 2 years ago my drives needed attention and I wanted to do it right, so I started looking for replacement lowers and came up with nothing. Everything inside the drives was easily obtainable but I ended up using the same lowers over and they look like ****. In fact, I'm suprised they're still holding together due to the corrosion around the prop shaft threads. It seems to me, if somebody started making "affordable" replacement parts for these, they would do a pretty good buisiness.

Dockmech,

Call "Doctor Dave"---he's a member on this board. He has a 35' Cigarette with 565 cubic inch/810hp blower engines WITH TRS drives! He does the set up/assembly on his TRS drives and has very good success with them. He just finished another guys 35'Cig with TRS who had problems until Dave got him squared away. You can call Dave at 616-944-0214---he's in S.W. Michigan.

maybe it's a licensing or patent issue with Mercruiser?
