Default Need HELP!!!!! V.I.N. and speed of a 39 scorpion.....

I just bought was I was told is a 1981 39ft. scorpion...... But can I tell from the vin # exactly what it is?? I'll try a post some pics, it's an original staggered big block TRS boat with believed to be 400's that were freshened up and tweaked to make 450hp. Any idea how fast she should run???

Also, any idea what it's worth?? It's a clean boat, nice interior and still all original.
Can't seem to upload pics, it has 2 hatches up the center, 4 port hole windows, seperate engine hatches with a raised teak walkway between them.
I can email or text pics if that helps....

Boat should run in the high 50's to mid 60's depending on prop setup

As for the HIN...go to Chris Craft Stingers Forums - Index
You can find a HIN decoder info there and han is a great help. Han runs rthe site and has all the Stingers registered on that site.

Thanks Stinger390x!!!! Any idea what it's worth?? Motors have low hours, run great, boat is pretty much all original, in real nice condition, everything works, original controls and Gage's and still clear and all work.

HIN will tell you what year it was built but thats about it. The Stinger Forum will be a lot of help. Would love to see some pics.
