Default What's the best way to fast track baked on hard water stains on stainless mufflers?

I'm giving the boat a spring cleaning. My stainless gatlin mufflers have been neglected and have baked on hard water. So far I have sprayed them down with a vinegar/water solution, soaked and wiped down. Then hand buffed out with blue magic metal polish. It's coming out, but taking a long long time. I'd rather not machine buff since I still have the mufflers attached and don't want to sling all over heck. It almost seems like I need something a little more abrasive than rags to rub the vinegar/water and polishing compound? Any suggestions?

I use the "works" tub and tile cleaner in the spray bottle. Try it, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised

almost any soap scum remover bathroom cleaner will work well, but the Works tub and tile cleaner has been on of my favorites.

I wonder how scrubbing bubbles in spray can would work? I'd love to let those little scrubber guys do the work for me.

Bon-Ami, I use it on my mufflers, rub rail and vinyl. It's a much milder abrasive than most other products and less expensive. Once my wife found out how good it works I have to buy 2 cans.

I use S.O.S. pads. Best trick EVER for pipes!!!! I local detail guy showed it to me. Once the Blue "stuff" is out of the pad, throw it away and get a new one. Just get pipes and pad wet and rub with S.O.S. pad.

Is the Works products safe to spray all willy nilly on the mufflers or do I need to be mindful of the overspray and dripping on the gel or painted drive?

Doesn't the SOS pads leave scratches?
