Looking at Shootout for a week and want to be close to Dog Days etc.
Need something in hotel or 1 bedroom condo with a slip. I have stayed at Grandview(?) across the street from DD before but they are all 3 bedroom units.
Arriving 8/20 and leaving 8/26.
Thanks for any recommendations.

Call Neil at Kapilana (Kapilana.net) 573-348-2151. It is within walking distance of Dog days and only about a 1/4 mile off of 54 (not miles of windy roads). By road, it is about 1/2 way between Captain Rons and The Toad, and is very close to PB2. We own a place there and will be there the week of the Shootout with our green batboat. The beachouses are pretty inexpensive and are like a hotel room with two beds and a small kitchen. He also has condo units available (2 and 3 bedrooms). rental slips are available up to 16X44, but the big ones go quick.
We met last year up at the breakfast house. It is great that you are making the trek again to LOTO for Shootout week.

Should not be a problem finding a spot for that. If you decide to drag a boat along with you, PB2 is only a couple of miles away (land and water) and it is a first class ramp. Sometimes it is fun just to go there a couple of times over the week just to check out all of the boats and tow rigs. Kapilana has some limited trailer parking, so you would probably need to keep the trailer at PB2. There is a small charge, but I do not know off hand what it is. Hell, I like to drive through just to look at the trailers!
