Default Loose steering on a Formula

I have a F303 SR1 that has several inches of side to side in the Bravo drives before the steering wheel moves. I origionaly thought it was the gimble rings but the steering shaft through the transom only has a slight amount of play to the drives. There is far more play from the arm to the wheel. Are there any adjustments that can be made at the steering actuator or with the cables that will tighten things up? Where should I look?

Cable is wore out most likely. Even on my 2002 292 fastech it was real loose. Gimble rings were fine and cable had been replaced. I first put a band aide on it with the drew side winders but still had too much play for my taste. I replaced system with full hydraulic and now it is a tight as can be. If you plan on keeping the boat for a while its the best 5k you can spend.
