Default ZZ502 few questions???

I just bought a boat and it has a zz502 engine. The engine now has 60 hours on it. I know he did not run the boat hard but I plan on running it very hard.
I have read in some really old threads about upgrading the Oil system , oil bypass, cooler and oil lines. He still has the stock stuff off his old 454.
He did "marinze" the block Stainless head gasket ect.
Its in a 1998 Baja 272.
Im going through and checking and upgrading now. my question is:
Is the ignition timing the same as when in a car or what should it be set to?
are their any good reads that are not 8 years old?
What and where is the best place to get the oil system upgrades?
Thanks Brian

Smitty's thread can be read one more time, it won't hurt a thing.

Make sure the stock 11lb oil bypass spring is replaced with the stiffer spring or just block it off and not worry.

And read the above thread. It should be mandatory.
