Default Raptor performance & replacement engines

I'm going to be re-powering my boat with a 383 stroker, and stumbled across this site: http://raptorengines.com/index.php?main_page=index

They offer marine 383 strokers at a reasonable price, and they come with a 7 year warranty, which has peaked my interest. Has anyone used them before? Wondering about their quality as their engine prices are substantially lower than most of the other crate motors I have found.

If you read the warranty on the page they really don't cover any type of failure. Ill sell you an engine with a 20 year warranty but I won't cover it unless I witness it break at noon on a Tuesday.

I agree that those prices are LOW!

That said, I would not buy one as they cannot build a quality piece at those numbers. Lots of imported parts and, most likely, "production" quality machining at best.

I think the old adage that "you get what you pay for" would apply here.

It seemed cheap, which was why I wanted to raise the question. What other reputable shops would you guys recommend? Ideally. I'd like something with a warranty.

Still would like to hear from anyone that used this company however.

I think that's the company a customer had told me about .I called to check on warrantee.IIRC it is a one year warrantee, with some kind of we'll help warrantee after that .That is when you pay shipping to them both ways .Isn't there any quality machine shop somewhere close to you.If you have an issue ,it's nice to be close to the builder .JMO
