As I plan my interior finish re-do I was wondering if anyone has used Dyna Mat in a boat? http://www.dynamat.com/
I have used it in a few Muscle Car restorations and love it. I wonder if anyone here has first hand experience using it in a boat?
Thanks in advance.

I have not but I have seen a motor compartment done in it. I would do it just because the resonant point s of glass VS steel would be different and added weight. Accoustic foam would be a better choice in my opinion...egg carton foam...but only in dry areas of the boat!

I have used it on the hidden inside areas of my fiberglass cockpit liner and around/behind my stereo speakers. It seemed to help some, especially on the big flat areas of the cockpit liner. It seemed to deaden that hollow resonance sound. Even hitting the palm of your hand on the surface you could tell a before and after difference. I’m sure every boat will be different but I don’t see any downside to it other than weight and cost.
