Default Baja colors and repair

I have a few minor gel coat gouges I want repaired so I did a little research here is what I know, boat is 2007 red/black/white I called Baja thinking I could get the color codes....ha! They said go to minicraft they will custom mix the correct colors....I have never heard anything but bad things about the Gel Coat they manufacture now days but I'm open to other opinions.

So I took it to a local body shop that is supposed to be good at Gel Coat a hole lot of arm waving and some small gouges in the black turned in them saying they'd have to do a complete 1' x 5' section and try to blend but not sure how it would turn out as the black on the hull was a murky black and not sure if Spectrum would be able to match it.... I ran far far away

Went to a marine fiberglass shop they are struggling to find a place to match the colors they use Spectrum but aren't comfortable with the black or red matching.

Would appreciate any suggestions or a shop within 65 miles or so of Crystal Lake IL. that is really good. I realize the boat is a 2007 and don't expect perfect but a reasonable match and don't want to turn what looks like a few small areas into a MAJOR operation.

I have heard good things about and some amazing matches they have done but they did the glass and gel coat on a friends Seadoo jet ski.......it was pretty bad. I have no idea who at Gran Sport did it but I sure wouldn't want them touching my boat.

I'll give a call and see if I can talk to Mark and see if he would be the one doing the work. Thanks for the name boatnt.

Contour fiberglass in Antioch

Jim can match any gell color!

I have seen him match the wildest of metal flakes on rangers to a 25 year old original engine hatch on my 87.
