Default pump gas hp per cubic inch question

i am wondering what kind of power i can make with my blown 496 bbc with an 8/71 blower. its 4.25 stroke, with all forged internals...

my shafiroff pump gas 540 bbc in my 67 camaro, is making 804 hp @6500 or roughly 1.5 hp per cubic inch. 810hp is exactly 1.5 hp per ci...

i would think i should be able to make 2 hp per cubic inch with forced induction, or is that out of the question on pump gas without an intercooler? ... what do you guys think? thx, rm

No you can't do it, look at the Merc 1075 that is a real good motor. 557 ci. just about 2hp per ci. There is a lot of trick stuff in that motor and it lives. Maybe on drag race motor not on boat engine.

2hp/per cid without an intercooler is definitely out of the question. To get to 2hp/cid on pump gas, you are into EFI, a good blower and a good intercooler.
