Default Rough water: 32 skater vs 38 TG, at what point does the 32 loose it's edge??

32 skater with 6's and runs 130mph when calm

38TS TG with bravos runs 85mph when calm.

Say it is slop, closely spaced, not big rollers, at what wave height would you guys say the top gun will be able to go by the skater???????

different scenario but 38 straight bottom passed a 32 with o/b's easily in 2-3's and random holes at 65-70...... you may know the 2 boats lol

2' occasional 3' a 32 B Bravo boat will run 100 pretty comfortable. In sold 3's hard to say how comfortable 85 would be. It would largely depend on wind and wave direction.

Smiklos I'm talking a #6 boat and don't care about comfortable, I'm talking balls to the wall with good guys on the throttles in both boats....you seem to know the 32's pretty well. What type of wind/wave direction do they shine and what's the worst type of water for them??

Depends who is driving....anyone(well offshore guys) can get behind a 38 and feel confident. I have been told .... If your fly over it the waves aren't a big deal. That being said I think a 32 in 4-5's might have a hard time.... But that's just my thoughts I have not seen it. I do know a 338 will walk threw 2-3 at 160+

I have seen the biggest cats brought to their knees offshore in NJ water. It takes a combination of chop and ground swells to even the playing field like you are talking about. Hard to say exactly but 32' starts feeling real short when you are trying to span legit 3-4 foot rolling swells with a 2'+ chop.

A few years ago I walked past a number of 30 - 32' cats at 75-80mph in a confused 3-5 with chop just because I could stay consistent. They were running up to 90/100mph and then either kiting, tripping, or damn near stuffing and backing it off to 50/60 and trying again.
