It has been a long time since I've owned a boat. We boat a '97 272 3 weeks ago and not all has gone well, should have gotten a survey. First run out the drive (bravo 3) reservoir puked all over the place. 2nd run out the idler pulley for the sea water pump fell apart and we had to get towed in. Amazingly wife and son still enjoyed the day out on the water. Yesterday we noticed (happened first run also) a buzzer going off behind the dash, have no idea of what it is trying to tell me. Also thought I heard a buzz or resonance while we were running. Wiping down the boat after pulling out of the water noticed some repair work i hadn't noticed before and thumping on the hull in that area revealed the resonance. about 3' of the rub rail is loose. Is this something I can fix myself? I'm guessing the center section of the rubber needs pulled to reveal the screws underneath????? I have the the white center rubber, not the SS insert. Any tips or pointers you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

the alarm could be the drive oil is low in the reservoir as for the rub rail you might need to move the screws to get it tight should not be a big deal

A survey probably wouldn't have found that stuff anyway! Well, maybe the rub-rail....
What caused the remote reservoir to "puke" out?
You'll like the boat once you get the bugs worked out. Interesting that you have a B3; there seem to be very few that left the factory with B3s.

Thanks for the replies. The drive reservoir is half full so that shouldn't be the cause of the alarm. It puked out from running hard for a while. From my forced studying it appears the bravo 3s run very hot. Got a drive shower coming, will be here monday that hopefully will take care of that problem.
Back to the rub rail. I am guessing to remove the middle rubber I need to remove the metal "clamp??" from the back of the swim platform that I think secures the rail? Does the center piece pull out or slide out of a channel?
Few other items to take care of later. drive trim gauge doesn't work and only port side insta trim gauge works. Want to either regear or change outdrives. I think I must have a 2.0 geared version since it will spin the twin 28s to 5100rpm with no problem but is only going 60mph.

if the drive oil reservoir is half full try tapping on the bottom of the bottle carefully and see if the sensor is sticking
