I'm putting the boat in the water tomorrow from the DNR ramp in Algonac MI to go to the St Clair Offshore Races. Can anybody tell me which particular dock is the best? I don't want the trailer falling off the ramp, but I also don't want to have to dunk most of the truck to get the boat off and on the trailer. For anybody that has used it, how long is your boat?

I have used both ramps in Algonac. The DNR ramp is a nice ramp. You will not have any problems. When you are in the water and are leaving and coming back to the ramp. Line up straight with the ramps. The water is shallow. If you head straight in and out from the ramps you should have any problems. Even though the water is shallow it is just silt and muck. I used the ramp last weekend. the water is about 2 1/2' deep. you have to go for a way before you hit the deep water of the channel. I used to launch my 42' there now I launch my 33'.

Rossi told me the he always used the ramp right in down town Algonac to launch all the big cats.
However you have to back accros route 29 to get to it.
I used the DNR ramp and it was shallow and some weeds were encountered.

I rarely had problems launching my 96' GSX.
