Interesting project that speedonthewater.com will follow as it evolves, http://speedonthewater.com/new-boats...united-kingdom.

!nteresting, I look forward to hearing more. I want to believe this group or another from overseas was interested in developing a racing series w/ a new cat & ILMOR power but I'm not sure if we are speaking about the same peeps.

I traded emails with the designer this morning, and details on this project and series are somewhat scarce. But if you're talking about UIM, yes, we're talking about the same people.

In relative terms the price point isn't too bad.

Just what the sport needs...another Offshore Racing class.....
Remember the "World Cat" series, and Factory 1, 2, 3, and the HP 525 Merc/Supercats, and the original P1 multi Engine Vees? Now we have UIM 1, 2, 3, 4, XCat and those single OB thingies that roll over at 60mph....Add to that no less than 6 bracket classes, SVL, SV, various IB cat classes plus Extreme, Turbine, Stock and SOB....and the need for something "new and different" is clear as mud.
Plus, I was unaware that a dearth of 35-40 foot cats was plaguing the sport....Apparently Skater, Nortech, MTI and the rest need replacement?
No wonder the above average earner is taking his mega toys to Poker Runs, fishing tournaments or point to point record runs. At least he can explain what he's doing at the bar after the event....
Never in the history of motors sports has one racing segment needed consistency and focus more..... and developed it less....
End of rant....
