I have a 1990 Scarab Viper 31' with the orginal scoop engine hatch cover. I am keeping that one as this was one of the main appeals of the boat to me. I was hoping to locate a regular sunpad type to lay out or sit on on. I am having trouble location any place selling used parts in hopes to get a second one. Can anybody help me with this search? Thanks

Thanks, I read your build. You have one of the nicest Vipers I have seen. I love mine and getting ready to insall 496 HO's. Short of making a engine cover it looks like I might be out of luck.

Seems like all the vipers are in MD lol, I'm helping a friend re rig his 91 right now. He has the race hatch like what you have and yes short of making a regular sun deck for it you are probably not going to locate one. It shouldn't be too bad of a project. If you PM 737jetmech he has a regular sun pad on his and could take some pictures of the structure for you. Very knowledgeable on the vipers and a heck of a nice guy. His boat hauls the mail too

Thanks; I will PM him. Let me know when you all have it out and running around Rock Creek or Dobbins. Mine is getting ready next week to take out 7.4 MPI's for 496 HO's. I will be down maybe 1 to 2 weeks. Famious last words. I will be out on friends until then. My next problem will be prop selection. Isn't that everybodys lol

My home creek is the bodkin, we are always around that way. His scarab is shooting to be done for Labor Day, did you buy the black and white super clean one from northern md? I'd imagine with 425hp HO motors a start would be some 24p b1's. I believe most guys with 500hp a side run 26-28 b1's. what kind of boat does your buddy have?

Yeah that's the one. Norm From Bay performance had it. I have 25 Mirage for test and tune and 23 mirage i just took off. I wanted to stay EFI. I was thinking 24 or 26 four blade in the end. I have Bravo one's so I wanted to stay close to the 400 HP level also. I can not afford XR's Ha ha. My marina is on Curtis Creek past the coast guard (Reckless Ricks creek) . One friend has a 42 Sonic Blue & Raseberry (We joke about that), and another with a 26 Sonic Prowler Purple, black and white. One has a fishing boat walk around, and last one has a 24 Cabin type. They laugh at me for a repower in the middle of the summer.

Didn't know there was a marina on marley or Curtis Creek except jaws? The prowler didn't happen to run in the CBPBA run last Saturday did it? I remember seeing your boat for sale and it looked clean as could be it seemed like a solid boat. My buddies is the exact same paint scheme as yours but blue/white instead of the black.

I'm very familiar with marley creek, I even know the marina you're speaking of now. Didn't know any performance boats were back there actually. I have some friends that live in pt pleasant they just use the community ramp though. Good luck getting the scarab together. I will keep an eye out for your boat.
