Default Fuel Tank Range (Sunsation)

Hey guys (and gals), I'm a new member and settled on a 28ft (Mercury 525) or 32 ft. (twin Mercury 525) Sunsation boat. The 28ft has a 110 gallon tank and the 32 has a 145 gallon tank. Just curious how many miles I could run in both boats before needing to refuel. I want to participate in a poker run that's about 100 miles long. Just curious if either of these boats could make it. Thanks in advance!

All depends what speed you run and fuel economy. At 1 mpg you wouldn't make it with 110 and maybe with 140. Assuming you don't wanna risk running empty and not knowing how much is left in tank when empty. Assuming 1.5 mpg you would be good. Consumption at a given rpm will matter. I don't know the 525 consumption other than reading some test reports so don't have the exact answer.

I fuel my 32 (496ho's) up for the tickfaw 200...its a two day run. I don't run much more than 3500 rpm most of the time..very, very little wot..never have needed to refuel during this event. I don't run all the stops so it's no where near 200 mile LOL. I'd say you're fine on fuel with either boat at my pace anyway

Welcome to the family! While this doesn't list the 525 it will help you ballpark some figures.
