Default Need Help!502 raw water pump prob, dealer rip-off

I need some board help. I've got a 96, 502 efi serial#OF417572 and the dealer here in reno has taken me for $850.. I put in a new engine for the Scarab I got from WPM and I noticed that the raw water pump housing(which holds the mechanical fuel pump)has a pulley that is wobbling so bad it thru the belt. So I took it to a dealer in reno to be fixed and he replace the pulley and shaft but it still wobbles and I do not want to take it out that way.The dealer says thats all they can do and good bye, they are too busy!!!

I've almost lost the whole season but maybe one of you guys who can buy from Mercury can get me the new housing complete for me from merc. The part number is#807151A8 and my dealer wants $525.00 more to get me one ,even though I'll put it in myself!

Can anyone out there get it for cheaper. Please help if you can!
Thanks, Terry

Also, don't let the dealer off that easy!!!

He didn't do anything but sell you some crap that didn't fix your problem. Talk to the mfgr, or the owner, or......... SOMEBODY!

This crap pisses me off!

Thanks for all the support, I'm so mad that I could do something stupid, so I have to forget the dealer and move to get a new housing and just put it on!

Time for a letter to the BBB. It's only on rare occasions that I don't get positive results from them.
