Here's my rookie story on hitting a log from 8 years ago on LOTO.
Riding along and felt it go under the boat. We immediately come off plane without throttling back. OH CRUD. She goes from nuetral to forward without a problem but I can only get to about 5 mph and the prop cavitates. Of course, its at night but at least I was only 2 miles from the house. We get back, I miss the slip a couple of times so I back up a bit and try again. In we go and up on the lift I put it. Look back there and everything looks fine. I think, "this will be expensive, must be internal damage".
Call the boat man in the morning and he comes to the dock. Takes it out and away he goes. Not a bit of problem, the boat gets on plane and up to cruise without an issue. I'm thinking, WTF????
He tells me a stick had lodged under the driveallowing air to cavitate the prop, and when parking it last night, my putting it in reverse dislodged it and all was good...... and you owe me $150 for a dock service call. Talk about feeling stupid.
