Old drives. Better to upgrade to alphas or bravos depending on power. Think the alpha upgrade is easy. Might even be same t/a

thx for the link, i thought it would be a killer boat when done with a pair of 400hp 383s, but im not down with swapping drives here in colombia... i have another month or so before i bring down my container so i will keep looking for a fairly straight and complete donzi x18 project...thx, rm

The one thing about the older boats you have to watch is the drives. If you are talking about stepping up to 383's it will most likely blow them out. 260hp was mostly what you got back in the day.

As far as you small Donzi goes, keep looking in Florida on Craigslist, I see them all the time.

I think they are Merc's pre-alpha's. That is what my old 1980 Formula 260 had on it. Good Luck!

They are Merc MR ( Merc Redesign) -You can see the "loop" on top of the stb drive....... basically the Alpha Gen 1 - not interchangable with Gen 2 Alpha
