If not you may be too late - event organiser for this years Cowes Torquay - Torquay Cowes, John Moore race has suggested it may well be the last one. For me it has been a lifetime passion since I was ten years old and got hooked on the noise, the smell of fibreglass and fuel, the designs, the entire spectacle. I could never understand why I and a school friend were the only two people it seemed on the Isle of Wight who were completely hooked. If we so much as heard what was obviously a raceboat screaming through the Solent or over in Southampton Water we would call one another and race down to the seafront on our push bikes and marvel at whatever was out there. A sad day to learn of the likely demise of what is/was one of the greatest sporting challenges of our time.
