I could really use some help. I have a boat project I have given up on and I could use some help placing a value on it.
It's a 26 ft Cobra boat set up for a sterndrive. Although its quite a few years old, It's essentially an unfinished new boat. It was purchased from the court ordered sale of a handfull of assets left of Cobra Boats/ Top Cat Marine/ Top Cat Marine Security, all of them being companies owned/ run by Peter Casini. The back story of Peter and Top Cat Marine Security makes Miami's Thunderboat Row history seem mundane. The boat had the floors and fuel tank installed and nothing else. The transom had not even been drilled for the sterndrive.
I made it as far as installing a new 350hp 4.2 liter CMD sterndrive diesel with a Bravo 1 in the vessel and have just lost interest. Should I sell it with or without the motor, and for how much?

Thanks for the help with the pics!
I can always remove the diesel engine and just sell ithe boat with the transom assembly and bravo 1. Does anyone have a clue as to the value of hull without the engine?
This was a hobby that got out of control. Before I had realized it, I had a warehouse full of drives and Diesel engines that I was paying a sizeable chunk of change to rent and i hadn't even set foot in it for well over a year. Funny how your interests and priorities change as you get older! Lol

Man it looks close to being ready to fire up.. Finish it and you'll love it forever.
I'd eBay auction that puppy "as is" and set the reserve what ever ya think it's worth. At least you might find some interested parties quickly, list your phone number. You can always break it up if they don't want a diesel. I defiantly understand where your coming from on the investment and time, owning the smallest performance diesel boat built to date. So here's some numbers for ya...
I purchased my one-off "spotless" diesel 210 Warlock on eBay from the person who had it converted several years ago. He put well over 50k in it, and I gave him 25k with 50hrs on the meter. Then I dropped 20 more in there over the next few years. Now it's pretty much perfect, running mid 80's, extremely fuel efficient, and it never fails to impress anyone who rides or comes up along side. So what's mine worth? According to NADA, about 12k, of course that's not counting the electronics, 25k in a rock solid 700hp Duramax, and 30k the last guy paid for that brand new IMCO prepped XR to handle the engine. Ah yeah, I forgot props...
Since I just purchased another diesel project boat this one is also going up for sale to help fund that. I'd probably take what I paid for it, but nothing less. I know that built Dmax engine will bring 10-15, and the complete diesel XR with low hours should do close to 10. So I could just sell the hull and trailer in that case. But if I set a serious power junky in the drivers seat, it's sold, guaranteed.
It's just finding that right person who understands what it costs to build that level of boat. That's where the internet comes in.. So, what kinda left over goodies do ya have for sale??
