I'm getting ready to re gel over the transom of my Donzi cc where a K plane removal ripped off several layers of matt along with the gelcoat. I've brought the repair area as close to the existing surface as possible with 1708 and a little bit of 700VE mixed with 404 high density filler. The problem is that this repair area is tucked up under the molded outboard bracket and 3 out of the 4 edge lines of the repair are right on a curve line in the hull. Due to the location it is all but impossible to get this perfectly flat before spraying gel. The largest part of the area is pretty much flush with the rest of the transom, its the edges on the curves that are the problem (maybe 1/16-1/8") to bring the edges up to where then need to be. Can I shoot several layers of gel over this to act as a filler along the edge lines? This whole area will be getting re sanded and bottom painted so a less than perfect finish isn't really going to matter.
If this is an acceptable solution, do I just shoot several layers of un waxed gel to get the desired build up and then a final layer of waxed gel? I'd post a picture that would make this all very clear, but I can't post pics.

yeah you can use gel as a fairing filler but just don't get nuts. sixteenth of an inch would be pushin it.
